Invisible.

Hey, family, how you been?
I've been listening to Invisible by Kierra Kiki Sheard.... and it has me thinking.  What are you singing for? What are you dancing for? What are you preaching for?

God gave you a gift to use for his glory. Not for yours.

The whole point of you stepping on that stage is so that people may see Him through you.  It's not about you. When those people are clapping, it's not because you performed well, it's because the Holy Spirit worked through you.

Don't become big-headed just because you got that voice or you can pop-lock.

Your Spiritual Gift?

I was randomly asked a question today by a classmate, out of nowhere, who said, "What's your spiritual gift?" I don't speak with her; I didn't even know her name. She just asked me what my spiritual gift was. The first thing that came to my mind (and probably most everyone's minds) was "I sing, I dance, blah, blah, blah..."

Then she says "No, not talent. I'm talking about your spiritual gift."

That's what I thought was a really deep question. I barely scratched the sufrace by responding: "There's been a lot of close encounters, where I'm in grave danger without knowing it, yet God pulls me out of intense situations. Moments like 'that could've been me'. After the miracle of being run over and surviving as a child, things have been so weird where's too many incidents around me where there's 'snipers', or 'tornadoes', or 'serial killers'." And she said she understood.

Reflecting upon that, I thought back to a lesson my mom taught me a few years ago on spiritual gifts.

1 Corinthians 12:1-11 says this:  Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

It's all on a spiritual basis, not on a personal basis. If someone asked you a question about your faith, will you be able to say "Jesus is Lord"? Would you be ashamed as to push away the Truth?

When you have the Spirit that invokes you to say "Jesus is Lord" without being ashamed, surely God has a gift in store for you. For a lot of people, it's the faith.  Faith is gained not by what you see--it's by what your hear. The Spirit God has granted you to have faith and stay true to what He's told you is there.

For some, God has granted the gift of speaking in tongues, and that's something that I ponder on as well. Not everyone truly speaks in tongues--they fake it, because the "feeling" calls for it. There are those who truly have the Spirit to speak through you, in ways you won't understand. When the Spirit of God is upon you to that measure, you won't know it--it's that powerful. The interpretation of tongues is the same--to the flesh, it's gibberish. However, if God has placed that Spirit in you to interpret what He's telling you, there is your Spiritual gift.

But that Spirit doesn't come by itself, as much as I, you, and everyone wishes it would. You must, you MUST, be connected to God. You have to walk in the faith, you have to speak with Him, pray everyday, read His Word, praise, worship, give your life to Him. It's only this way you can experience His love and His gift in your life.

Everyone has a gift God has given them. You have to be the one to understand and discover what your gift is, only by serving Him wholeheartedly. Start your journey today.

"Untitled" by Medi K

Day 1, sit down, ready for something new
No one, sees how, anxiety gets you confused
But I sit here, relaxed, forgetting about the
Things of yesteryear

Chorus:
But right here is where I start on making a living, out of

What I gain, what I earn, and my decision, to
Care about what I do, will I'm mixin' up the feelings, and I
Do... what I gotta do...
But for now it's just another day,
Another untitled song...

Another untitled song....

(Kinda short right? It's supposed to be that way.)

I'm Livin' With You (A/C: Medi K.)

THIS WHOLE SONG ITSELF IS BASED ON COLOSSIANS 2:6-7 (NIV)

[CHORUS]
I'm livin' with You, Lord...
Built up in You and rooted
I'm livin' with You, yeah....

I'm livin' with You, Lord...
Strengthened in the faith, and I overflow...
Jesus... with thankfulness
That's how I'm living with You...

[VERSE 1]
I'm just so glad, glad I can say that
I'm livin' the life that You gave and
There's nothing quite like it, and I don't know
How much longer I'm livin' on the Earth, so

Let me shout for joy because I'm with You
Don't need to worry, no, cuz you got it planned through...
Not gonna think about the pains, cuz my life is in Your Hands...

Yeahh.....

(Chorus)

[VERSE 2 - what's in italics is sung in a choir form]
Gotta close my eyes to take in all the beauty
Gotta meditate to understand Your Word that's for me
Gotta hear Your Word and then I'll act upon what You say
Ready for the paradise I'll witness, then I'll say

HEY! HEY!
YEAH! YEAH!

Lift up my voice, my voice, my voice, and then I'll say

HEY! HEY!
Oh-ohh! OH-OHH!
Whoaaa... WHOAAA...

(Chorus)

[BRIDGE]
I think about it, think about it, bout it...
Talk about it, shout about it...
No matter what people say
I'm gonna dance about it....

Yeah, gonna sing about it...
Oh, gonna laugh about it,
(Laugh, laugh about it - echo x2)
LAUGH ABOUT IT...

(repeat Laugh about it.... x7)

(Chorus)

Oh-ohh, oh-ohh, oh oh oh....
Oh-ohh, oh-ohh, whoaa....
(repeat to end)

God bless you.

Praise and Thanksgiving

Today's verse of the day spoke of entering the gates of God with praise and thanksgiving.  This goes for prayer, as well. Before you go into the presence (or "gates") of God, you should give praise and thank Him for everything and whatever He's done for you, whether good or bad.

Psalm 100:4-5 (NIV) says:
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
So when we enter God's presence, thank Him.  Even the power of praise is so amazing and beyond what we can imagine.  Whatever you're going through, give thanks.  Praise Him.  He will come through for you.  Then upon entering God's presence, God knows that through anything, you're grateful that He is God and whatever He put you through.

Thanks and God bless.

Do you like to sing?

I was inspired by today's verse, and i just wanted to ask "Do you like singing?"

“Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” (Psalm 95:1-2)

Here's what hit me after reading this:

Lots of people cansing , lot's of people can't... (don't take it wrong, if that's you!). But most people who can sing, they waste it on a bunch of nonsense.  Now, I know you don't really want to be wasting yourself on the material things you have when you could be using it for something useful. It's real annoying, because the people who aren't really singers don't have a powerful voice like Beyoncé or Rihanna or Chris Brown, but they actually put use to their gifts.

Now, I really don't want to trash on anyone, really, but it bugs me. It seems like I'm the only Christian in my school and have a voice, but then there are so much who also have one and are kissing, fighting, messing around like idiots as you walk down the hallway to each class?!? There are so many people who just don't make sense with their lives. Tell me, is the only thing everyone's based on is DANCING? I just KNOW your whole life you can't be depending on someone tryin' to "put a ring on it..." You so worried about that you have to write a song? HOW ABOUT instead of following the songs that make no sense in our lives, we put some use to it. Insted of telling one person to the next to the next that they "shoulda put a ring on it", why not GET MARRIED??? Instead of "pulling the trigger", why not FIND HELP for your stress??

Just a word to those who are dealing with this issue... there's so much you can do with the little you have.  That's what I got from this whole thing.

So, go out, live, ready to touch another.

God bless.
